Career EDGE: Train the Trainer

If you or your department offers in-person or online training for staff, you are invited to learn how to use and gain access to ASU's new LMS just for professional development and training. The new LMS is called ASU Career EDGE and will house all employee training and professional development in one place. At this hands-on workshop you will learn what Career EDGE is about and how to enter training and online courses or resources.

Borderlands Volunteer Workshop

Learn how you can become involved in a volunteer opportunity on campus. Borderlands distributes fresh produce around southern Arizona at churches, schools and other community organizations. More than 10 million pounds of food is rescued and delivered to agency sites for distribution. 

Kendon Jung, of ASU Changemaker Central, leads the produce rescue and will provide information and statistics about Borderlands' sustainability efforts and how you can help.

Mini Health Screening

Arizona State University benefits-eligible employees can get a 30-minute health screening. Several tests, including readings on cholesterol, blood pressure and triglycerides are available free of charge.

Other tests are available for as low as a $20 copay. Cash, check, MasterCard or Visa is accepted. Bring your ASU ID and Benefit Options insurance cards.

Active Shooter Training

Arizona State University Police offers a free active shooter training class for ASU community members to help them develop skills to increase their chances of surviving an active-shooter event.

Attendees watch active shooter video scenarios and may participate in an ASU police officer instructor-led discussion about tactics that reinforce the "run, hide, fight" concept. Participants are encouraged to ask questions. 

Yoga

Flow through poses that will awaken the body and allow for an energetic and positive day. This dynamic class brings attention to core strengthening, balancing poses, inversions, breath and meditation. Please bring a mat, towel, water and come dressed to participate.
