Touch(ed)

Touch(ed) is a multimedia dance theatre project featuring Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance faculty Marianne Kim and guest artists Will Bond and Claire Austruc. It incorporates IAP students and explores and deconstructs the micro and macro layers of complexities between two types of touch: voluntary interpersonal touch and the mysterious “touch” of involuntary reflexive movement provoked by ritualistic ceremonies.

What is actually happening when we make contact? Touch(ed) will incorporate text, movement and video projection to weave a pattern of storytelling from the perspective of neuroscientists to being slain in the spirit to a biologist’s understanding of Merkel nerve endings.
