Bio Arts in Finland

This exhibition features the collaborative work of five teams of ASU science and art students during their 2018 summer course at the Kilpisjärvi Biological Research Station in the far North of Finland, “Bio Arts: Sonoran and Arctic Environments.” The study abroad course brought together the New College's School of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies and School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences to train students across the disciplines in art and science. This program is supported by the National Science Foundation and was led by ASU West Professors Becky Ball and Richard Lerman along with Dr. Antero Järvinen, director of the research station, which is operated by the University of Helsinki.
