ASU’s Polytechnic campus aims to increase the region’s competitiveness by preparing graduates to move directly into professional and technical careers and to become ethical leaders in their professional, public and personal lives.

Living at the Polytechnic campus
Fall 2007 Occupancy Rate for on-campus housing: 90%
The campus offers:
- 610 individual two to five bedroom homes; occupancy for 531 families
- Eight residence halls with 348 rooms; occupancy for 430 students
Freshman Year Experience (FYE) Residence Halls
The FYE program, a living and learning community on campus for traditional age freshmen, helps provide support for students to make a successful transition to college life. Three halls with 142 rooms are currently designated as FYE residence halls.
Meal Plans
Through a partnership with the food service provider Aramark, students have many dining options available to them. All dining services are provided in the Food Court of the Student Union building.

Special Facilities/Labs
- Flight Simulator Labs provide Aeronautical Management Flight students with the preparation needed to refine their piloting, instrument flight and procedural skills. Adjacent to the campus is Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport for students to further develop their flight skills.
- Altitude Chamber allows students to experience the physiological effect the loss of air pressure has on the body.
- Digital Printing Lab provides students with project management and technical knowledge of the printing and digital media industries.
- Microelectronics Teaching Factory is a full-operational semiconductor fabrication lab.
- Haas Technical Center is equipped with the tools that Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology students use to design and build prototypes of high-end machines for the aerospace, automotive and manufacturing industries.
- Design Studios provide Engineering students with an environment that is conducive to project- and problem-based learning.
- Photovoltaics Testing Lab tests solar panels and fuel cells for industry.

- Nutrition students hone knowledge in high-end research labs as well as fully-equipped kitchens.
- Cognitive Engineering Research on Team Tasks lab conducts research on human factors like team issues in socio-technical systems and on methodologies and approaches to collecting and analyzing data across different projects.
- Exercise and Wellness students learn in a kinesiological and a physiological assessment labs and will have access to the Healthy Lifestyle Center.
- Education students can gain experience working with students from pre-school age through sixth grade without having to leave the campus.
- Applied Biological Sciences students have access to state-of-the-art greenhouses and a plant-made pharmaceutical manufacturing operation.
