The following sample statements can be used and/or adapted for publications and events coordination to facilitate responces to students/participants who may need disability accommodations, e.g., interpreting or alternative print services.

Event Samples:

SAMPLE 1:

"To facilitate the availability of disability accommodations for this event/activity, please contact ______________ at ___________ a minimum of five working days prior to this event."

SAMPLE 2:

"To facilitate the availability of disability accommodations, e.g., alternative formats, interpreting services, for this event, please contact _______________ at __________________ a minimum of five working days prior to this event."

Publication Samples:

SAMPLE 1:

"This publication is available in alternative format upon request."

SAMPLE 2:

"To request this publication in an alternative format, contact ________________."

NOTE:

Public, self-supporting university units (e.g., Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium) are responsible for providing their own interpreter services for the general public. This includes nonacademic credit and/or fee-based programs, lectures, classes, workshops, conferences, and activities.

Nonuniversity units that need interpreters for activities or programs not covered by the DRC interpreter/transliterator services can contact the following agencies:

Freelance Interpreting Services (FLIS) 480.965.9515 V-TTY

Arizona Interpreting Services (AIS) 480.961.7331 V/TTY

Valley Center of the Deaf (VCD) 602.267.1921 V/TTY

Some of these agencies require as much as one-week advance notice. Questions about interpreter services may be directed to the DRC Interpreter/CART Services Supervisor at 480-965-1234 or CRPrice@asu.edu.
