Safety and Security

The ASU Downtown Phoenix campus:  a safe and secure environment

Arizona State University is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all members of the Downtown Phoenix campus community. Copper Square Ambassadors make it friendly!

It's reassuring for students and their families to know that ASU's commitment to campus safety and security is comprehensive and well-defined. Campus police aides provide security-related services to Residential Commons on a 24/7 basis, and are available, along with Copper Square Ambassadors, to accompany students, faculty and staff to classes, on-campus housing and parking areas at night.

ASU police aides are stationed at Residential Commons and in the lobby of University Center (formerly the 411 Building). An ASU police sargeant is stationed at the Federal Post Office Building on Central Avenue, the historical Phoenix landmark that now houses ASU Student Services and other ASU administrative offices.

In addition the City of Phoenix provides full-service police, fire, ambulance and other emergency and public safety services, and responds to all 9-1-1 calls.

If you have questions about these services, please contact Commander Rich Wilson or Sgt. Al Phillips at (602) 496-1017.
